A Week of Bicycle Commutes
Unfortunate to say, but it is not every week I can say I did the commute by bicycle every day. Until the last couple of days' humidity, this week was the idyllic bicycle commuter week. I was camping out this week, and used my bicycle as my only transportation. The mornings were cool and refreshing (I could actually see my breath a few mornings and had to wear a windbreaker once). Arriving at work without being completely drenched in sweat is a novelty.
In another depressing note, road kill was horrific this week. I see plenty of it riding the bike, but this week was especially heavy. Chipmunks, skunks, raccoons, birds (4, including a mallard run over by Shawme Pond) all seen this week.
The ride in: Monday through Thursday, dry and cool, forty-five to fifty degrees. Friday was steamy again.
Comments: I rode the Trek all week to commute, travel, shop and run errands.
The ride home: Sunny, and around seventy
Number of fellow cyclists seen on both trips: avg. 3
