A Tale of Two Purchases

Yesterday Grandma and I went on a trip we had been planning for about a week. This was a trip that was not for the weak of heart. You see, we took the hour ride to David's Bridal in North Attleboro. I must say, this place was like nothing I had ever seen. If it is possible to have a warehouse for brides, this dude David has pulled it off. I was not looking for the typical bridal gown purchase, but for a veil and headpiece to wear for the special day. I found what I was looking for and more. We were lucky that it was a quiet day, because having not bought my dress from them, they would not have felt compelled to help me had they had anxious brides pounding on the doors. All in all a good day. Oh, and I had a great pasta-pesto dish at the 99, something I recommend to anyone who wants to feel their waist expand a foot during digestion.

I spent this morning making room for my two lingerie chests that are due to arrive any day. Being the excitable person that I am, I neglected to measure the area I will be putting said chests, therefore, creative repositioning had to be performed for such a feat to be pulled off in the coming days. Not wanting to go through the trouble of an exchange/return, I was determined to just make it work and never buy bedroom furniture again. The house should be good to go, but of course I will give you the update complete with pictures when Blackhorse Carriers brings me my beauties!

A Peep For All To Hear

Ahh...here we are. Welcome to my new blog. I have been meaning to do something new and innovative, and it took one special fish to give me the motivation to do just that. "Consumer Toad" is a far cry from the woes of "Jesse Loves Brady". This blog will be devoted to funny anecdotes of my new, happy life. The title may seem strange and silly, and I owe it to my soon-to-be life partner for coming up with such an endearing term. You see, I love to shop. I am the ideal consumer in that I love to shop for everything, whether it be groceries, clothes, jewelry, or cat food. I am a well-balanced consumer. To top it off, I have found a very happy place in my life working in retail. I know, you must think I am crazy. Retail is a dead-end, low paying field to be in. I may not make the best money, but I love what I do. I love the products that I sell, and the company I work for treats me way too well. I have amazing benefits and have developed friendships that I hope will endure the duration of my stay with this employer. I know that blogging about going's on in the workplace can be contraversial in deed. Not to fear! My best stories will come to you courtesy of the foul and nasty customers that this community has to offer whilst our real(far away) customers await their summer trips to the Cape. But that is another story... I was supposed to be explaining the meaning behind my name. So you get that most of my life revolves around retail, hence my being a consumer. On a personal note, I am a bit of a small being. I am ALWAYS cold, and can often be found wrapped in a blanket and sleeping soundly. In the beginning of our relationship, Drew thought my behavior was cute and affectionately named me Toad. It appears to have stuck, and now if you choose to accept my offer, you can join me on my journey through my busy world of first home ownership, newlywed adjustments, animal motherhood, and management perils. To be continued!
